Electric mobility gets mega push in India, Modi govt approves Rs 10,900 crore PM E-DRIVE scheme.

PM E-DRIVE scheme will support the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country through subsidies and demand incentives on electric models in different categories, installation of public charging stations, modernisation of vehicle testing agencies.

Government considering EV import duty slash from 110% to 15% Govt is mulling to slash EV import duty from 110% to 15% Policy awaiting approval (Expected in couple of weeks). 📜 🔹 Tesla gears up for India entry but must invest ₹4150 Cr & set up a plant in 3 years (Expected Approval by July-Aug 2025).

🔹 Automakers must hit ₹2500 Cr turnover by Year 2. 🔹 8,000 premium EVs ( ₹30L+) can be imported at lower duty (Applications mid-2025).

🔹 Negative for M&M, Tata Motors & other local EV makers
