A permanent commission for Denotified, Nomadic, and Semi Nomadic Tribes (DNTs) was called for in the national conference of DNTs.

Declared as 'Criminal'

Communities that had been declared as criminal under the erstwhile colonial government.

Board for DNTs

Development and Welfare board for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi Nomadic communities organised a national conference in New Delhi.

Idate commission

  • The last national commission that was set up under the chairmanship of Bhiku Ramji Idate, submitted its report on the actions to be taken for the protection and development of DNT communities in 2018.

  • This included classification of these communities and setting up a permanent national commission. 1
