Chinese Factor
- China has been seriously worried not only about the general rise of India, but the willingness of the US, UK and the European Union to sign trade deals with India, possibly at the cost of China in the long run.
- In the short run, the world needs China since it has become over-dependent on cheap Chinese imports to keep consumer prices down.
- Pahalgam happened just when many global manufacturers, including Apple, are thinking of relocating more parts of their supply chains, especially those that focus on the US market, to India.
- China+1 is happening, and this is precisely what China does not want.
- India’s rise and booming stock markets have become a big deal for China, especially since Donald Trump’s tariff wars are directed at China. His administration has indicated that India may be one of those countries with which it may sign a trade deal later this year.
- China will not let India benefit from its loss if it can help it.
- But, as the timing of the UK free trade deal shows, India knows what needs to be done.
Chinese response for the retaliatory strikes
- China backed Pakistan’s call for an “impartial probe” into the Pahalgam massacre when there were Pakistani finger-prints all over it.
Iran trying to make its role as a mediator
- It is not a coincidence that Iran wants to broker peace between India and Pakistan, when it is under pressure from the US to abandon its nuclear plans and China is backing it. A Turkish navy vessel began a goodwill visit to Karachi.
Why Turkey supports Pakistan?
- Many turkey nuke scientists visited the nuke sites in Pakistan
- Turkey is on the blink of getting a nuke smuggled from Pakistan in next 18 months
- "We are with Kashmiri brethren in solidarity as before : Tayyip Erdogan"

Pakistan harboring Sajid Mir, Terrorist who orchestrated 26/11 Mumbai attacks
- Sajid Mir, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative, was long believed to be dead — at least that’s what Pakistan told the world.
- Also known by aliases like Sajid Majeed, Ibrahim Shah, Wasi, and Waseem, hails from Lahore.
- But under intense international pressure, Islamabad had to admit he was alive and quietly jailed him in 2022 at Kot Lakhpat Jail, in Lahore.
- Mir was also directly linked to David Headley, the Pakistani American terrorist who scouted targets for the 26/11 attacks. Headley testified under oath in a US court, naming Sajid Mir as a possible officer of Pakistan’s spy agency, the ISI.
- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) lists Sajid Mir among its most-wanted terrorists. The US State Department has offered a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to his arrest or conviction. Statement of DG ISPR
- The DG ISPR (Inter Services Public Relations DG) statements characterise the strike as an attack on civilian areas, also noting that India had struck the Neelum-Jhelum dam.

All-party delegation isn’t failure of Indian missions abroad
-
The inclusion of countries such as Algeria, Guyana, South Korea, Sierra Leone, and Slovenia is explained by their status as current non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
-
The decision logically follows from the need to counter the narrative that both the terror attack and the resultant war were linked to the ruling government’s ideology. This required a high-impact political delegation constituted of both opposition members and those from the minority community (including from Kashmir) in order to underscore the falsity of the same perception.
-
"A case of the messenger itself being the message."

The all-party delegation is an innovative form of diplomacy. But it can only complement the work that Indian missions already undertake on an everyday basis and without attending to cameras.
