Odisha Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair means) act, 2024 - to curb cheating & discrepancies in public examinations conducted by state recruitment agencies.

Offences under the act will be cognisable, non - bailable, non - compoundable, with strict penalties.

Imprisonment of 3 - 5 years and fines upto to 10 lakhs. Service providers will be fine upto 1 crore, liability for exam costs and four year ban from conducting exams.

AI based thermal cameras now detect and alert control rooms as elephants approach railway tracks, enabling trains to halt in time.

A pilot initiative in Rourkella Forest Division( Odisha) is already showing results. Plans to expand to Keonjhar & Bonai are underway. Innovation saving wildlife! The camera was first installed in Similipal tiger reserve.

Once the camera detected the elephants' movement, it immediately transmitted location details and photographs to the control rooms f both the forest department and the railways. The railways acted swiftly, delaying the departure of a goods train by 30 minutes to ensure the elephants could safely cross the track. Economic Times
