TANGEDCO was bifurcated into two corporations after the approval of the Central Department of Energy,

One of them is Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Limited TNPGCL.

The other is Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited which will also operate as TNGECL
